What happens after your website launches

Launch day feels like the finish line. It's really the starting line. A website is only useful while it's accurate, secure and reachable, and all three take a little upkeep.

What changes after launch

  • Your business changes. Holiday hours, a new service, a price update, a seasonal menu. An out-of-date site costs you trust, and sometimes a wasted trip for a customer.
  • Software needs patching. Sites depend on code and services that get security updates. Skipping them is how small sites get hacked.
  • Renewals come due. Your domain and any email licenses renew on a schedule. Miss one and your site or inbox goes dark.
  • Things quietly break. A contact form stops delivering, a link goes dead, a page looks wrong on a new phone. Nobody tells you. They just leave.

Two ways to keep it running

We offer two monthly plans so you don't have to think about any of that:

  • Self-service changes, $30 a month. Email requests, patching and maintenance for your website.
  • Supported changes, $50 a month. Up to 10 supported changes each month, plus patching and maintenance.

If you change things rarely, the first plan keeps you safe and current. If your hours, menu or listings move often, the second one means you send us the update and it's done.

A five-minute monthly check

Whoever looks after your site, it's worth doing this once a month:

  1. Open your site on your phone. Are the hours and phone number right?
  2. Send yourself a message through your contact form. Did it arrive?
  3. Check when your domain renews and that auto-renew is on.
  4. Click every link in your menu.
  5. Search for your business name. Does your site come up?
